Jonathan is an HR Advisor with a wealth of experience working in the Public Sector, with additional skills and experience in maintaining HR and Management Information Systems.
Jonathan has advised colleagues at all levels on HR and payroll matters, relating to all stages of the employee lifecycle. From recruitment and induction to performance management, and retirement and resignation. He has provided support and coaching to new team members, and contributed to induction and onboarding procedures.
Jonathan began his career at the Institute of Welsh Affairs, maintaining and promoting, via social media, the independent Welsh think-tank’s news analysis site, ClickonWales.org. He also worked closely with the Institute’s regional branches, travelling to different parts of Wales to support their work and develop a programme of events that complimented the work of the central branch.
After developing his customer service skills Jonathan joined Cardiff Council’s HR department as a bilingual (Welsh-speaking) HR Advisor. There, he took on additional duties such as coaching new starters, investigating and resolving discrepancies in Teachers’ Pensions records, and participating in induction and onboarding activities.
During this time Jonathan earned his CIPD Level 5 Human Resource Management qualification and developed an interest in Organisational Development and Employee Engagement. Following a secondment to Cardiff Council’s HR Technical Support team, Jonathan secured a role as HR Systems Administrator and Data Analyst at Cardiff University, where he developed his knowledge and experience of the use of technology in HR.
